Are u still working on pii, now there is new pii3 out, stronger and with wifi. Would be just amazing having enigma2-tv working on this small budget friendly device.

I still used this tutorial, was not a success wen I did it and if you read some posts down to the tutorial page, there is a guy asking if the trancoding part also use hardware acceleration ... the author didn't knew about that and could not answer.

I will review this on PI a bit later, for now focusing on the new 2.0.0.5 that will include PICONs in server but also in all client apps !

I worked on it, yes ...
The good new is that I'm able to reproduce all necessary functions to be able to control the Dreambox from the PI node ...
I also played with VLC on this new PI2 and it still seems not to be powerfull enough : the chip on the mainboard get very warm when I did video transcoding (even only in command mode without GUI and no video output) and the processor usage was over 80%.
The video was bad in quality and freezing ... Impossible to get more than 10 fps ...

One idea is to check how to (if possible) to use the embedded GPU to encode the video stream.
The PI2 has a GPU that could do this but I haven't yet found any help or example of VLC usage to get this working.

If you have any help on this I would appreciate.
