You are not the only one having this issue.
And yes, the way to correct this is to disable the HTTP Authentication.

Normally the tool should send user + password in HTTP request ... this is what it does on channel zapping ...
I will review how I programmed the Media Player mode and correct if needed.

i have found the problem, i had HTTP AUTHENTICATION turned on, on my satellite receivers WEBIF plugin, when i turned it off, media player started to work.

the reason i had HTTP AUTHENTICATION switched on, was because i connect to my receiver from work and other public places using any internet connection so ideally i want a password and username prompt connecting.

is it possible to get ETV to support this or is it not possible?

edit: also, even before putting ETV into streaming mode, in the MEDIA PLAYER tab, I cannot play videos to the mini window...it says thats its playing, but theres nothing there just black, when i press stop, the live tv channel comes on and plays fine, but if i pick a recording from my list, nothing plays....

thanks for this great tool.

all works fine, except for if i try to play a recorded program through it...

everything else works, i can stream using internet control = i can then change channels etc on private and public IP, but for some reason i cannot play a recording back, either locally or publically.

i must be doing something wrong... it cant be ports, cos it doesnt work locally either.

any ideas? as i say, satellite tv works, just not any recordings i have stored - it lists them, and when i click play it looks like its going to play but it doesnt, it errors.

it comes up with the dreaded:

Video not found or access denied:
http://192.168.1.18:80/111111111111111111_stream.flv (number is fictional)
