I will have a look at this for the next release.
I cannot tell you why this happens for now, I have to investigate.

Hi Sébastien,
is there nothing i (or you) can do?
The Problem with the High CPU load after stopping a stream persists.
Ive done a complete new Installation but the problem persists.
Aprox. 15 to 20 % CPU Load (on a 3.2GHz Quadcore CPU) infinitely after
stopping the stream. Stopping internet control, the CPU load goes down to 2%.
Starting internet control the load stays @ 2% start streaming the Load goes to
40% stopping the stream the CPU load of EnigmaTV.exe drops to 20% and stays there.

Has nobody the same behavior? Am I the only one?

Hi,

VLC runs under Enigma-TV process, so I think that the CPU load is also related to VLC.
I think that VLC doesn't release something when the stream is stoped.
I checked Enigma-TV source code and I release / stop any function that could consume CPU or RAM.

Hi Sébastien,

i have checked with the recommended settings, and they have no impact to the CPU load when NOT streaming.

After starting internet control the EnigmaTV.exe consumes about 2-3% CPU time.

Starting a Stream (FullHD) it jumps up to about 80% of my Intel Quadcore 3.2GHz CPU.
Stopping the Stream and ending the Android App the CPU Load of EnigmaTV.exe goes down to about 16% CPU load.

This is way too much for Standby and my CPU wont go to energy saving mode during app standby.

Stopping the internet control the CPU load goes donwn to 2% immedeately.

When streaming to local Webinterface the behavior it is exactly the same.

The cpu load stays at 17% for hours, until i stop internet control.
I Tested with both webservers, without change of behavior.

But the Stream from my DM8000 is stopping, when i end watching the stream,
because the power LED stops blinking, what is a sign that streaming from the box is off.

When watching the same channel local with the EnigmaTV App on my PC (internet control off)
it is the same 17% CPU Load, like in internet control after streaming.
But if i hit TV off in the app the load goes down to 2% again.

What is the difference between the two modes? I like to have the 2% CPU load after streaming
in internet control aswell.

Thank you for help.

Hi,

When you stop the stream from your Android device then the stream should stop on the server as well .., is it the case?
If the stream stops on the server side then the CPU usage should go back to normal.

About the error message that you obtain, this is purelly related to VLC.
What setting are you using for the stream?
I recommend 500kbps video bitrate, video scale at 1, audio bitrate at 96kbps in stereo.

Best regards,

Hi Sebasien, after closing the stream (android APP) the CPU of my PC transcoding (where EnigmaTV runs) keeps busy (during transcoding i have a CPU load of 40% and after stop watching the Stream the CPU keeps busy at 30%)disabeling internet control the load drops immedeately to 1-2%.

In addition, the App is not very stable on Windows 10, at least once a day ill get the following Error:

Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: Enigma TV.exe, Version: 2.0.0.6, Zeitstempel: 0x5731f709
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: libts_plugin.dll, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x4fa0860d

Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: %12
Berichtskennung: %13
Vollständiger Name des fehlerhaften Pakets: %14
Anwendungs-ID, die relativ zum fehlerhaften Paket ist: %15

Is there anything i can do? or is it conflicting with anything on my PC?

Thank you.
