Hi Nvidia have cuda and I am sure AMD have a similar thing that can be used. CoreAVC is able to use a graphics card to offload the encoding/ transcoding from the CPU to GPU. Going from 80% cpu use to 2% use by doing so.

I know this is probably a long way down the list of to-do's but adding the ability to use graphics cards to do encoding would be fantastic and allow for multiple streams quite easily. John
